Sacred Heart of Jesus / Sacred Heart of Mary Bracelet
The Sacred Heart of Jesus / Sacred Heart of Mary bracelet carries two silver-tone Italian medals side by side — the Sacred Heart of Jesus crowned with thorns and radiating flames, and the Sacred Heart of Mary pierced by Simeon’s sword and wreathed in roses — handwoven onto an adjustable cord in Medjugorje by women who pray as they tie each knot. It is a wearable expression of the Two Hearts devotion, the centuries-old Catholic practice of honoring the Hearts of Jesus and His Mother together.
Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus was revealed to St Margaret Mary Alacoque at Paray-le-Monial between 1673 and 1675, when Christ showed her His Heart aflame with love for humanity and entrusted to her the Twelve Promises for those who honor it. From those apparitions grew the Nine First Fridays devotion — a reparation practice that mirrors the First Saturdays kept in honor of Mary’s Heart, so that the Two Hearts are venerated in parallel. The Church places their feasts back to back: the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus falls on the Friday after Corpus Christi, and the feast of the Heart of Mary follows on the very next day. The Sacred Heart of Jesus, surmounted by a cross and ringed with the crown of thorns, and the Heart of Mary, pierced and crowned with roses, are traditionally shown together — an image carried in countless Catholic homes through the Enthronement of the Sacred Heart.
Each pair of medals is produced in Italy, handwoven in Medjugorje, and supplied in packs of 10 across 14 cord colors — for parishes, Sacred Heart enthronement and First Fridays groups, Marian apostolates, Catholic schools, First Communion and Confirmation programs, and wholesale devotional retailers. The cord is adjustable; the bracelet can be customized with different medals on each side or wood, glass, or stone beads — contact us and our designers will prepare samples.
Handwoven in Medjugorje by women who pray as they tie each knot, every MIRJAM DOO Sacred Heart of Jesus and Sacred Heart of Mary bracelet unites the two Hearts at devotion’s source — Italian medals, Bosnian hands — for the faithful who keep the Lord’s Heart and His Mother’s together.
